We are just outside Chelmsford town centre close to Parkway.

A warm and welcoming pub,the Woolpack offers Real Ales to suit most tastes as there are usually 8 available.We have regular Quiz Nights and Music Nights. Play pool and darts in the games room or choose from our huge range of board games.

An awning has been installed on the patio, and chimneas are usually lit on chillier evenings to accomodate the smokers.In the summer this becomes a sheltered suntrap the perfect place to spend a summers afternoon or evening with patio heaters if needed.

THE SEPTEMBER BEER FESTIVAL WAS A GREAT SUCCESS AND THE NEXT ONE IS PENCILLED IN FOR THE EASTER WEEKEND 2010.

MAGGIE AND DAVE RECEIVED THE AWARD AT THE OFFICIAL PRESENTATION NIGHT HELD AT THE PARK LANE HILTON ON SEPTEMBER 9TH.

GUEST ALES

EACH MONTH FROM OCTOBER WE WILL BE FEATURING GUEST BEERS FROM A DIFFERENT COUNTY.

STARTING WITH BEERS FROM DORSET ,ONE OF OUR PUMPS WILL HAVE AN ALE FROM EITHER THE ART BREW,

THE KEYSTONE OR THE ISLE OF PURBECK BREWERIES.

WE HAVE ONLY ONE BARRELL OF EACH BEER WHICH WE HOPE WILL KEEP OUR RANGE OF BEERS FRESH AND EVER CHANGING.

IF THIS IS SUCCESSFUL NOVEMBER WILL SEE US FEATURING BEERS FROM SMALL BREWERIES IN NORFOLK.

Currently 14 single malt whiskies

are available.And 4 premium brandies including

We serve Baguettes ,bar meals and full meals

weekday lunchtimes(not monday or saturday)

and early evenings (5-8pm)

and main meals and roasts on sundays 12-4pm.

Our speciality however is our locally sourced sausages,our supplier hand makes over 50 types and we usually have at least 8 varieties available with chips or flavoured mash (garlic, mustard or butter) and peas or baked beans.

QUIZ NIGHTS

We have recently started an Entertainment Quiz on the Sunday evenings that there is not an acoustic night (see below). These are already proving popular with a start time of 8.30 and a guarantee that it will all be over by 10.30pm

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE TUESDAYS

We think this is the busiest regular quiz in town with over 50 people every Tuesday trying to win the £250 jackpot.Starting at 9pm you are advised to arrive early to get a seat.

MUSIC NIGHTS

We have occasional music events as well as a regular open mike acoustic evening on the last Sunday of each month.On these nights anyone who can play is welcome to get up and entertain.
