We  are  just outside Chelmsford town centre close to Parkway.
A warm and welcoming pub,the Woolpack offers Real Ales to suit most tastes as there are usually 8 available.We have regular Quiz Nights and Music Nights. Play pool and darts in the games room or choose from our huge range  of board games.
 
An awning has been installed on the patio, and chimneas are usually lit on chillier evenings to accomodate the smokers.In the summer this becomes a sheltered suntrap the perfect place to spend a summers afternoon or evening with patio  heaters if needed.

THE NATIONAL TRADE PAPER HAS VOTED THE WOOLPACK THE BEST CASK ALE IN THE COUNTRY.
MAGGIE AND DAVE RECEIVED THE AWARD AT THE OFFICIAL PRESENTATION NIGHT HELD AT THE PARK LANE HILTON ON SEPTEMBER 9TH.
 
 
FOOD
 
We serve Baguettes ,bar meals and full meals
 weekday lunchtimes
and early evenings (5-8pm)
and main meals and roasts on sundays 12-4pm.
 
Our speciality however is our locally sourced sausages,our supplier hand makes over 50 types and we usually have at least 10  varieties available with chips or flavoured mash (garlic,cheddar,chilli,apple, mustard or butter) and peas or baked beans.
 
   

 
 
 
QUIZ NIGHTS
 
 SUNDAYS
 
We have recently started an Entertainment Quiz on the Sunday evenings that there is not an acoustic night (see below). These are already proving popular with a start time of 8.30 and a guarantee that it will all be over by 10.30pm
 
  GENERAL KNOWLEDGE TUESDAYS
 
We think this is the busiest regular quiz in town with over 50 people every Tuesday trying to win the £250 jackpot.Starting at 9pm you are advised to arrive early to get a seat. 
 
MUSIC
 
We have occasional music events as well as a regular open mike acoustic evening on the last Sunday of each month.On these nights anyone who can play is welcome to get up and entertain.
The second sunday of each month sees traditional Irish music from 5 pm to 8pm.
Again anyone is welcome to join in.
